Photos: Stephen Fulton takes title from Angelo Leo

Stephen Fulton has become a world champion.

The Philadelphia fighter defeated Angelo Leo by a wide unanimous decision to take Leo’s 122-pound title on Saturday at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.

And Fulton (19-0, 8 KOs) did it by beating Leo (20-1, 9 KOs) at his own game, toe-to-toe warfare.

The scores were 119-109, 119-109 and 118-110, all for Fulton. Boxing Junkie had 117-111.

In other fights on the card, Ra’eese Aleem (18-0, 12 KOs) stopped Victor Pasillas (16-1, 9 KOs) in the 11th round of a scheduled 12-round junior featherweight bout; and lightweight contender Rolando Romero (13-0, 11 KOs) knocked out Avery Sparrow (10-3, 3 KOs) in the seventh round of a scheduled 12-rounder.
