The Real Housewives Of Orange County: 5 Times Fans Supported Kelly (& 5 They Didn't)

0

Many of the cast members on The Real Housewives of Orange County are outspoken, and it's fair to say that Kelly Dodd is one of the boldest. Since joining the reality series in season 11, Kelly is known for fighting with others and having very strong opinions.

Kelly has had moments of being harsh, like when she commented on Tamra's situation with her children, and she's definitely a cast member whom fans don't always agree with. While sometimes viewers showed Kelly support, there have been many times when she took things way too far.

10 Supported: When She Got Engaged To Rick

Kelly married Rick Levanthal in October 2020 and fans were glad when she shared the good news of their engagement.

Kelly's marriage to her ex-husband Michael didn't appear to be a happy one and their interactions on The Real Housewives of Orange County were never pleasant to watch. Kelly has said in many confessionals on RHOC that Rick is a good influence in her life and that her daughter loves him as well. It seems like she's in a good place with her new marriage.

9 Didn't: When She Yelled That Vicki Was A "Con Woman"

Vicki and Kelly got into an argument because Vicki was talking to someone with whom Kelly had some bad blood, and Kelly called Vicki a "con woman."

Vicki didn't appreciate hearing this, and the two weren't able to see eye to eye on this situation. The two cast members have had some bad fights and this was just one example. While Kelly can be just as tough as Vicki, it seems like she was in the wrong here, as she said something that was really mean and unnecessary.

8 Supported: When People Said She Was Part Of A "Train"

Many seasons of RHOC have fun vacations and each season also tends to feature an argument that the cast members can't move on from.

Season 14 of RHOC featured one major storyline: everyone saying that they heard rumors that Kelly was involved in a "train." Some people didn't even know what this was, but it got ugly and fast as Kelly was horrified to hear what people were saying about her. Whether or not it's true is no one's business and fans supported Kelly here, as no one wants to be gossiped about.

7 Didn't: When She Told Braunwyn To Move

At the end of season 15, the ladies had a party on the beach near Elizabeth's house, and Braunwyn talked about her political beliefs. She said that she felt like she didn't fit in with the rest of Newport and that when she grew up in Laguna Beach, she was around like-minded people.

Kelly said that Newport is conservative and that if Braunwyn didn't like it, she should move. This was an odd thing to say to a friend, especially given the struggles that Braunwyn talked about that season.

6 Supported: When Vicki Set Up Her Friend With Kelly's Ex-Husband

Vicki set a friend up with Michael, and Kelly was really upset that Vicki would get involved in her ex-husband's dating life.

While Vicki was probably just trying to be nice to her friend, it wasn't a very nice thing to do to Kelly. It was easy to see where Kelly was coming from here, as she had gotten out of a tough marriage and was trying to move on and start fresh. Vicki might have been upset if Kelly had set her own ex-husband Don up with someone.

5 Didn't: When She Literally Hit Shannon In The Head

The women went to Miraval Arizona Resort and Spa for a peaceful time, but like most trips in the Real Housewives universe, it didn't go very well.

When Shannon was taking part in a ritual, Kelly took a mallet and hit her in the head. It was a strange scene to watch and it was hard to imagine why Kelly thought that was an appropriate thing to do, so this was definitely a time when fans weren't on Kelly's side. Shannon went to the ER.

4 Supported: When She Was Confused About Elizabeth And Jimmy

Fans were introduced to Elizabeth Vargas in season 15 and she quickly became a subject of gossip amongst the other cast members.

Elizabeth was in the middle of a divorce that she said was really tough, and she told the women that she and her boyfriend Jimmy weren't going to sleep together until she was officially divorced. Kelly was confused about this relationship and often brought it up. While some might say that Kelly shouldn't have gotten involved, fans and cast members alike were also confused by the situation. Elizabeth talked about it regularly, so it seemed like she wanted to share.

3 Didn't: When She Hit Gina In The Head

Gina is tough and sweet, and she was shocked when she was talking to Kelly about the situation with Shannon and Kelly hit her in the head.

This was another surprising moment from season 14, and it was a time when fans were on Gina's side and not Kelly's. This isn't something that friends do to each other. Kelly had some mean comments for Gina in her confessional: she said, "Gina's not an accomplished woman. Her life is a hot mess, and mine is actually in a good place, and she's telling me how to act?"

2 Supported: When She Fought With Michael All The Time

Tamra had some surprising scenes when she was on RHOC, and many of Kelly's are just as wild and always seem to get fans talking.

When Kelly was on the show with Michael, the two fought regularly, whether at home or attending parties with Kelly's friends. It was a picture of a marriage falling apart, and viewers wanted the couple to go their separate ways so they could finally be happy. Kelly isn't the first RHOC cast member to get divorced as many others have seen their marriages end while filming the show, from Tamra to Vicki to Shannon.

1 Didn't: When She Said Vicki Purchased Her Own Engagement Ring

Vicki is famous for some wild scenes on RHOC, but she's also relatable because she has always been looking for a partner to share her life with.

Apparently, Kelly said that Vicki bought her own engagement ring, which was definitely a harsh thing to say. If it's true, then that's not such a big deal because Vicki is an independent woman who runs her own business and can buy whatever she wants. If it's not true, it's a mean comment.
