Godzilla vs. Kong Merch Reveals New Look At Mechagodzilla
Merchandise for Godzilla vs. Kong reveals a new look at the film's version of Mechagodzilla. The fourth film in the MonsterVerse is shaping up to be the biggest installment yet in the budding franchise. After two solo films for Godzilla and one for Kong, Godzilla vs. Kong will see the two giant creatures fight in epic fashion. The film's marketing has continued to highlight the many monster brawls included, and this has come with keeping the focus primarily on the two titular creatures.
Unsurprisingly, Godzilla vs. Kong will feature many other monsters besides the giant lizard and ape. The trailers have teased a few new creatures joining the MonsterVerse and recent details indicate Mecha-King Ghidorah might have a role as well. One of the other Titans set to appear in Godzilla vs. Kong is Mechagodzilla. The giant robotic version of Godzilla was revealed to be in the movie previously through some toy leaks, but the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer also featured a few teases. The footage didn't show Mechagodzilla in all its glory though. Thanks to some new merchandise, that has changed.
In a since-deleted post on Heredia Clothing that is now circulating on Twitter, the clothing store revealed a new look at Mechagodzilla in Godzilla vs. Kong. It comes from a long sleeve shirt that prominently features the "Ultimate Destroyer." Mechagodzilla is only shown from the back, but it still features a great look at the robot's new design for Godzilla vs. Kong.
Ever since it was revealed that Mechagodzilla is in Godzilla vs. Kong, fans have been trying to figure out what role it will play. One of the biggest takeaways is that it means the movie won't just be about Godzilla and Kong fighting each other. The presence of Mechagodzilla all but confirms that the two creatures will have to team-up by the movie's end to take on the giant robot. Some theories have even suggested that the Godzilla that Kong fights throughout most of the movie is secretly Mechagodzilla in disguise, which would allow the real Godzilla to enter the picture late in the game and be a hero.
With Godzilla vs. Kong's release only a few weeks away, it won't be too long before fans get to see what role Mechagodzilla plays. It will be fascinating to see how large of a role the robot has and if the movie manages to include a "surprise" villain late in the game better than past versus movies. At the end of the day, most viewers will likely be happy as long as Godzilla vs. Kong delivers plenty of monster action between Godzilla and Kong, as well as the two of them working together to fight Mechagodzilla.
