Khalilzad embarks on another trip to Afghanistan and regional countries

Zalmay Khalilzad to Afghanistan reconciliation has reportedly embarked on another trip to countries involved in the Afghan peace process, the visits are aimed at strengthening the peace negotiations in Doha, Qatar.

Khalilzad who currently is in German will travel to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Qatar, and UAE, and other regional countries, sources told media.

According to reports, the Afghan State Ministry for Peace Affairs is hopeful of the US envoy’s upcoming regional visits.

Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, State Minister for Peace has welcomed Khalilzad’s trip and hoped that his upcoming trip will be more effective in supporting the peace process in Afghanistan.

Earlier, in a released statement on Sunday Taliban marked the first anniversary of the Doha agreement and said that the group has done its part in the deal and that is a practical way towards peace.

Taliban added that any attempt to look for an alternative will result in failure in the peace process.

Taliban group in the statement urged the United States to be committed to the Doha agreement, demanded the release of remaining Taliban prisoners, and asked for the removal of their names from the UN blacklist.

While blaming the United States for their continuous bombing operations on the group, the Taliban said they have fulfilled their commitments and did not violate the Doha deal.

Despite efforts for peace violence in country remains extremely high and horrible.
