R.I.P.
Posting this on the OTG board because he followed so many different UD athletic teams, but Edgar Moorman, age 101, a WWII veteran, and father, grandfather, great-grandfather, or uncle to me and several other UD fans/graduates passed away Friday night. Those of you whove been to Dayton basketball (mens and womens), football, or volleyball games in particular would have recognized him as the man in the wheelchair with the light blue Dayton Flyers blanket to keep him warm. He survived a farm accident and foster care as a youth, malaria and the war as a young man, raising 12 great kids (my cousins) as an adult, and even a mild bout of COVID earlier this winter, but he could not survive the loneliness that came with a year of forced isolation. He was a great man in a lot of ordinary ways, and his presence will be missed. R.I.P., Uncle Ed.
