Is +6.5 too Many Points to Lay with the Knicks Over the Pistons?
The Pistons and Knicks just met on Sunday in Detroit ahead of their second game in four days. New York took out Detroit 109-90 and will try to make it two in a row at Madison Square Garden. The Pistons have struggled offensively this year and are 23rd in scoring and 27th in the field goal percentage league. This season, their all offensive rating over their last ten games is 23rd while their pace is 26. They’re a very slow tempo team that doesn’t have a ton of scores.
Jeremi Grant’s led the charge for them this season, but they did drop 129 points against the Raptors last night. So let’s pull up our handy dandy notebook here and see what the pistons do on back-to-backs. They are 4-3 to the over and are surprisingly 6-1 against the spread in the second game of a back-to-back. Take that for what it’s worth, but the line movement in this game starts with Detroit opening as a +5 point dog and is now up to +6.5 point underdogs at the FanDuel Sportsbook. The total has dropped a few points as well. It’s tough to lay seven with the Knicks because even though they have a great defense, their offense is not good. This offense showed you the other night how they can go into a complete shell, especially if Julius Randle has an off night like he had the other night.
