The Salve-Maker job is back in Bravely Default 2, but the player has to go out of their way to find it, as it's behind an optional quest.

The bulk of the jobs in Bravely Default 2 are won from bosses that are encountered during the story. There are some jobs that are optional and require the player to complete sidequests, one of which is the Salve-Maker.
The Salve-Maker debuted in the original Bravely Default on the Nintendo 3DS. Jobs like the White Mage focus on healing with spells, while the Salve-Maker is the master of enhancing the power of healing items. They are the spiritual descents of the Chemist job from Final Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy Tactics, which were unconventional (yet powerful) classes.
The version of the Salve-Maker in Bravely Default 2 is equally as useful as the other amateur pharmacists in the series, but the player has to go out of their way to find it, as it's one of the few jobs in the game that is optional.

Once the player reaches Chapter 3, they can visit a town called Enderno. Truff the monster will be standing outside of Enderno when the player first passes it. There is a subquest in Enderno involving a sleeping man in a hut. The quest-giver is a man named Glenn, who offers the player an Asterisk in exchange for Luneclover herbs, as they will wake his sleeping friend. Leave the village by the north exit and go to the Crystalcap Mountain.
Follow the marker to find the Luneclover herbs. The gimmick of this dungeon is that the wind will blow and slow the player down, allowing monsters to catch up and attack. Once the party finds the herb, return to the town and give it to Glenn. The player will have the option to enter the dream world. Make sure the party is rested and save before entering. The dream world is a copy of the Crystalcap Mountain. Follow the marker to fight Glenn (see below). Once the battle is over, you’ll return to the dream world and unlock the Salve-Maker job.

Glenn has 34860 hit points, is a member of the Humanoid family, and his weaknesses are lightning, dagger, and spear. Initially, he will seem like an easy target, as his defenses are low and he seemingly lacks offensive power, but this is just a way of luring the player in. Glenn has a vicious counter move that is seemingly triggered by all attacks. It's called Contagion Agent and it will deal 1500 hit points damage to all party members (with Defaulting characters taking 900). He has the ability to charm party members with his Philtre attack, can heal himself for 5000 hit points with Giganpotion, and can gain BP with BP Tonic.
The secret to beating Glenn is not spending multiple BP on chain attacks. If the player does that, then they're leaving themselves open to multiple counters and possibly being wiped out. Glenn takes a ton of damage from regular attacks, so it's easy to carve away at his hit point total. The player has three of the Special Abilities unlocked by this point in the game, so make sure to bring in some powerful attacks for this battle. Spells like Thundaga and attacks like the Humanoid Slayer (used by the Ranger) will deal a ton of damage against Glenn.
The Thief's Steal Courage ability is also good for robbing him of additional BP. The player just needs to take their time and whittle him down, with extra BP being saved for healing. Bring lots of Remedies into the fight, or be prepared to hit fellow party members to knock them out of the charmed status effect.
