Fans have been fascinated with Evelyn Cormier's marriage to David Vázquez Zermeño since the couple tied the knot on 90 Day Fiancé season 5. Now, Evelyn is speaking out. 22-year-old Evelyn got married to her 30-year-old husband David when she was only 18 years old, and David moved from his hometown of Granada, Spain to join Evelyn in Claremont, New Hampshire. The 90 Day Fiancé couple connected after David found Evelyn's music online and they realized that they both shared the same strong Christian faith. However, things were far from perfect throughout the duration of David's K-1 visa, as the pair clashed over their long-term goals as a couple. Evelyn wanted to be close to her family in New Hampshire and David wanted to live in a big city, but they did marry.
Ever since Evelyn and David said their vows on 90 Day Fiancé in 2017, their relationship has been under scrutiny from eagle-eyed fans who have noticed that Evelyn is sometimes seen without her wedding ring. Evelyn offered a simple explanation for the times she has been spotted without it. She says that she often takes the ring off before participating in photoshoots. Even though she and her husband are in the public eye, Evelyn considers the constant speculation about her marriage annoying and said: "I also think it's kind of a rude question to ask a married couple if they're still married. I'm not going up to married people and asking if you're still married," according to People.
Evelyn has more important things to focus on than rumors about her marriage, such as her burgeoning music career. The raspy-voiced singer-songwriter competed on American Idol in 2019 and even made it to the Top 14, but she was ultimately eliminated after an audience-wide vote. Evelyn grew up performing in a band with her family before embarking on a solo career as a teenager. She is currently working on a first novel that should be published this year.
After Evelyn's American Idol run, the couple relocated from New Hampshire to Los Angeles so that Evelyn could pursue her career in the entertainment industry. As of now, the two are enjoying married life and are not quite ready to start having children. They celebrated their third wedding anniversary in October 2020 and spent the holidays with Evelyn's family in New Hampshire. David and Evelyn (who was recently accused of faking IG pics) will also appear on the spinoff series 90 Day Fiancé: Love Games.
