Report: Eagles Owner “All In” on Jalen Hurts
NFL reporter Chris Mortensen reports that Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie “has instructed his group to prioritize making Hurts successful in 2021 as opposed to creating a true competition.” This is a bit of a change in narrative for the Eagles, who were initially expected to be aggressive in the quarterback market. Some mock drafts even had the Eagles selecting a quarterback in the first round, and Pro Football Focus recently had a mock draft where the Eagles traded up to the No. 3 spot to select Justin Fields. Mortensen adds that there is still some uncertainty about Hurts within the building, but it’s clear that Lurie wants to give the 2020 second-rounder a shot. As the owner, his voice is the only one that ultimately matters.
