Six-time defending champs Japan announce roster for Women's Baseball World Cup
Madonna Japan, the Japanese Women's Baseball National Team, announced its roster for the ninth WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup, scheduled for March 2021 in Tijuana, Mexico.
Manager Risa Nakashima selected 19 players:
PITCHERS (6) Isozaki, Mizuki, Tsuru, Sato, Furuya, Mori
CATCHERS (3) Muramatsu, Funakoshi, Izumi
INFIELDERS (6) Yokoyama, Iwami, Deguchi, Hoshikawa, Kawabata, Tadano
OUTFIELDERS (4) Miura, Shimizu, Naraoka, Kojima
The coaching staff includes Katsuhiko Kido, Hiroki Fukutome and Akino Tanaka.

Japan won in the 2018 edition, which was staged in Vieira, Florida, USA, to claim the nation's sixth consecutive Women's Baseball World Cup title.
Seven of the selected players, including MVP pitcher Ayami Sato, and coach Akino Tanaka featured on that 2018 Women's Baseball World Champion roster.
