Imagine Dragons Return With Two Tracks, New Album In the Works
Imagine Dragons swoop in with their first new music in two years.
At the stroke of midnight, the alternative rock outfit dropped the two-pack of “Follow You” and “Cutthroat,” their first release since 2019.
The tracks are expected to appear on Imagine Dragons’ forthcoming fifth studio album.
Frontman Dan Reynolds gave fans some background on the new recordings. “I’ve been working on this album with the guys for the last three years and feel both excited and anxious for their release,” he writes in a social post.
“Follow You,” he explains, is a song about “loyalty and love.” Its b-side “Cutthroat” is “the opposite side of the record, both sonically and thematically. It’s an exorcism of self-pity,” he explains.
The as-yet-untitled album will be the followup to 2018’s Origins, which hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
