Dear Members, Guests & Visitors, By now, we would have all become very eager to return to golf after this long pause; and we have all waited patiently for the official go-ahead to reopen – thankfully that time has finally come! Thank you all for your patience throughout this period, as the country took necessary precautions to slowing the spread of COVID-19.
A warm welcome back to the Barbados Golf Club!
Following the COVID-19 Press Conference held by the Government of Barbados on March 11th, 2021, it is our pleasure to announce that we have been given clearance to reopen as a non-contact sporting activity. We hope not to take this opportunity lightly, but rather intend to SAFELY resume operations at the Barbados Golf Club, and therefore strict protocols will be in place going forward.
Protocols:
Strict protocols which will be enforced are as follows;
Masks MUST be worn in and around the Clubhouse, including the bag-drop area.
Persons entering the club MUST sanitize their hands upon entry.
Upon entry to the clubhouse, please stop for a temperature check, and normal sign-in procedures.
Individuals with flu-like symptoms are prohibited from visiting the Club.
Please note:
Frequent sanitization of the Front Desk area will be facilitated by our staff.
Golf carts will be sanitized after each use.
Wall mounted hand sanitizers are placed around the clubhouse; players are encouraged to use these frequently, and also asked to bring their own.
Booking:
Booking a tee time in advance is mandatory – please access the tee sheet via our BGC website.
Each of the player’s names and email addresses will be required when making the booking (for contact tracing purposes).
The online booking portal will be open from 8am, Saturday, March 13th.
Booking for members can generally be made 72 hours in advance, while non-members can book up to 48 hours in advance.
The first tee-time will be 8am daily to facilitate staff adherence to curfew.
Unlike last year’s post-lockdown reopening, normal groups of 4, with 10-minute intervals will be permitted.
Arrival:
Golfers are asked to arrive no more than 15 minutes before their respective tee times.
No crowding or congregating will be permitted.
First Tee & On Course:
Players must observe physical distancing throughout, particularly on tee boxes & greens.
Players should not handle other players’ golfing items.
Players must refrain from contact greetings, handshakes and high fives.
There will be no access to water coolers or water on the course. Players must bring their own bottle of water or cooler, if desired.
Driving Range
The driving range will be open.
Buckets of balls will be available at Bag Drop after purchase in the Pro Shop.
There will be no transport to and from the driving range.
Bar & Restaurant:
“Nineteen on the Green” BAR will open from Monday, while full Food & Beverage will open from Tuesday, March 16th.
