Undertale Is Coming To Xbox Consoles & Game Pass Tomorrow
One of the most beloved RPGs is finally coming to Xbox systems, as Undertale will be available for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One systems tomorrow, coming to Game Pass on day one. Undertale started out as a PC game that was funded on Kickstarter before gradually being ported to other systems.
Undertale is a critically acclaimed RPG, that never forces the player to take the life of a foe. Upon launch in 2015, the game quickly drew a dedicated fanbase, who were attracted by its aloof writing, charming characters, and tendency to push the boundaries of what constitutes a video game. Undertale is currently available on PC, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, but it has remained absent from Xbox systems even though it could be purchased on the Microsoft Store.
Xbox Game Pass received a ton of content over the past week, in the form of 20 Bethesda games. The service is about to receive another huge title, as the official Xbox website has announced that Undertale is finally coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S systems on March 16. It's assumed that both versions of the game will run identically since Undertale isn't demanding in the slightest, meaning players can install it to whichever console and play without missing out on anything.
Like the other console ports of Undertale, the Xbox version will have exclusive content. A trailer for the game on the official Undertale YouTube channel shows a room with a slot machine. It also bears mentioning that Undertale coming to Xbox systems also means that its sequel/spin-off Deltarune is now more likely to come to Xbox, assuming the next chapter is ever finished. The Xbox version of Undertale has a few specific enhancements to make it easier to play on a console, which means that the game's save data isn't compatible with the PC version of the game.
Microsoft is stacking the Xbox Game Pass line-up and there is more to come in the future. The Undertale announcement has been slightly overshadowed by the fact that Outriders is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. The people who haven't played Undertale by now should definitely check it out, as it's one of the best games of the past decade. The Xbox system might be better known for action games, racing games, and shooters, but Game Pass is loaded with quality RPGs from the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series, and there are few RPGs better than Undertale.
Undertale will be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on March 16.
