East London school to revert back to name honouring heroic Spitfire pilot who sacrificed himself to save a thousand pupils 78 years ago

A pensioner whose life was saved when an RAF pilot steered his malfunctioning plane away from his classroom 78 years ago said the decision “changed the course of history” - as the school vowed to change its name to honour the heroic act.
