90 Day Fiancé: Andrew Claims His Disturbing Texts To Amira Are 'TV Tricks'
A lot went down during episode 15 of 90 Day Fiancé season eight where, after weeks of shuffling between one “loophole” to another, Andrew Kenton and Amira Lollysa finally broke up. But while TLC viewers always felt Amira could do better, the manner in which Andrew treated her was called out for being manipulative and creepy. A conversation about having kids blew up with a series of texts gaslighting the French-Egyptian woman, one of which also mentioned Andrew had given Amira “a lot more rope to hang herself with.” But after an uproar on the internet over his toxic behavior, 90 Day Fiancé daycare dude Andrew claims the texts were “TV tricks” by TLC.
With their Mexico quarantine plan already having failed due to Amira’s detention in the Mexican immigration center for three nightmarish days, the 90 Day Fiancé star wanted to reapply for a K-1 visa at a later, safer time. But Andrew was seen egging her on, as he involved her in a new plot that got her quarantining in Serbia amidst riots. With just 24 hours left on the clock for her flight to America, Andrew picked a fight and sent Amira a second option: a new ticket to Paris. But along with the ticket, the 90 Day Fiancé star sent texts that read everything from, “The children at the daycare are far better team players” to. “You shoot yourself in the foot,” amidst a literal countdown for Amira to reply.
Fans who watched the messages flash on their screen mentioned how Andrew is an "abusive person" who gaslighted Amira until she had a panic attack and chose to go home. However, Andrew, who spent the entirety of his season eight stint blaming TLC for giving him a bad edit, ended up doing the same when confronted by a fan on Instagram. A Reddit fan on a 90 Day Fiancé community located a comment exchange between Andrew and his follower on his post. “What do you have to say about the texts that were shown on this week’s episode,” the fan questioned, to which California resident Andrew replied with, “Plenty, A whole essay on the tv tricks used and lies told, but would you even believe me?”
The 90 Day Fiancé star Andrew continued, “For heaven sake my WhatsApp picture wasn’t even that, it was of US!” in the now-deleted comment. On seeing Andrew’s claims, fans on the Reddit thread agreed that, while TLC may fake drama on the show, they “100% didn’t fake those text messages.” Another viewer noted that they initially felt “that it could be fake” but as observed on his IG, “Andrew seems to have no problem whatsoever posting their text convos, so why not post the receipts for this one?” The fact that Andrew hasn’t tried to prove his original messages may have been twisted makes the fan “think he’s lying.”
Another 90 Day Fiancé watcher asked, “How can it be ‘Tv tricks’ when we literally saw it on her actual phone..?” The fact that Amira scrolled the conversation also means it’s an actual conversation between her and Andrew and not an “altered screenshot.” Fans believe that, due to the bad rep he’s gotten on season eight, Andrew might be feeling the need to put up a “Nice Guy” act. But how will he manage to do it now that the majority of the 90 Day Fiancé community has jumped to Amira’s side?
