RHONY: What Bethenny Frankel's Engagement Ring is Really Worth
Bethenny Frankel of The Real Housewives of New York fame has a lot to be happy about, including her rather "large and in charge" engagement ring. The striking piece of jewelry looks like it cost a pretty penny. Fans are curious about how much it's really worth. This ring isn't the sort of jewelry design that gets lost on a woman's hand.
The "B" is back, and along with her freshly signed divorce papers, there was an equally exciting engagement announcement. The 50-year-old was recently spotted on Florida's beaches, sporting a flashy diamond on her left ring finger. The mother of one did not seem worried about losing it in the crystal blue waters. Meanwhile, fans couldn't get over how sparkly the ring is. Bethenny's fiancé Paul Bernon did a great job of picking out the ring. This diamond design is surely Frankel's new best friend, and Screen Rant spoke with a diamond expert to get a sense of what it's worth.
Frankel, who memorably said that filming RHONY wasn't "enjoyable," matched her new accessory with a stylish pair of sunnies and a light blue bikini. Even though the waves were crashing around her, she wasn't afraid to splash it up in the water. However, readers would not pull a "Bethenny" if they knew the estimated cost of the ring. Apeksha Kothari, who is the Chief Operating Officer of Rare Carat (America's largest marketplace for diamond engagement rings), explained what a ring of this caliber would go for. Kothari thought the three-stone ring appeared to be an 8 to 10-carat design. The expert shared details, explaining that there was an "emerald-shaped center stone" which was flanked by two smaller emerald-shaped accent diamonds. The accent diamonds were estimated to be around three carats total.
Rare Carat divulged that if the diamonds were natural stones, and this is likely, the retail cost would be around $1 million dollars. If Bernon happened to shop on the bargain side, picking up a ring with fake diamonds, he might have spent as little as $5,000. It's doubtful that he bought anything less than the real thing for his future bride. For those with champagne wishes and caviar dreams, an emerald cut diamond leaves "little forgiveness" when it comes to quality, so Bernon probably picked that shape due to its high level of clarity. The setting also looks to be platinum, indicating that Frankel's new diamond would have a "high color grade" in the colorless range.
The happy couple has yet to announce any plans for their wedding, but Bravo fans are praying that she strikes a deal with Bravo to either get back on The Real Housewives of New York or air her wedding. It seems highly unlikely that the Skinnygirl would ever return to the franchise that made her a household name, but a fan can sure dream. Her reunion with Paul Bernon is definitely going swimmingly.
