[Softball] Schnakenberg Named GPAC Pitcher of the Week

Josie Schnakenberg (JR/Wahoo, Neb.), a pitcher for the Doane Softball team, has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Pitcher of the Week after her performances this past week in North Dakota. This is the third time in Schnakenberg's career that she has received the honor and first since the 2018 season.

Highlighting the week for Schnakenberg was a school record, 15 strikeouts, against Valley City State. The Viking are receiving votes in the NAIA national pool. Earlier this year, she had moved into a tie for the record of 13 which was held by three other players entering the year. In three games last week, Schnakenberg went 2-1 with a 2.63 earned run average, striking out 29 batters in 16.0 innings.
