[Baseball] USK Continues Its Power Surge

Saint Katherine got some stellar pitching performances to complement its potent offense as the Firebirds took three straight from Providence Christian.  USK, the first California Pacific Conference team to 20 wins this year, got a near perfect outing from Kyle Huett in the first game of Friday's doubleheader, and then a strong outing from Marcus Christy in Saturday's one-sided win over the Sea Beggars.  Huett was flawless through seven innings before giving up two singles in the 8th and closing it with a perfect 9th inning.  He fanned 13 batters and walked none in a dominating outing.  Christy tossed six shutout innings and allowed just three hits in a 15-0 win by USK.  Dylan Jacob neared the USK and Cal Pac record for home runs in a season when he belted his 16th in the series finale--leaving him just one short of tying the two marks.  For the three-game series, Jacob went 6-for-13 with four home runs, scored five times, and drove in six.  But he was alone.  Most notably, The bottom half of the USK order did the most damage, with Brady Ware, John Freeman, and Alex Cansino combining for eight hits, six runs, and nine RBI.
