[Men's Soccer] SU Claims Top Spot in the North

Entering the final full week of California Pacific Conference matches, four teams appear to hold the inside track to the postseason.  Interestingly, No. 24 UC Merced, undefeated in its only four conference matches, is not the top seed in the North Division.  That honor goes to Simpson, which beat La Sierra on Sunday to improve to 6-1 and claim the top seed in the North.  Despite its setback, LSU still holds a lead over Benedictine-Mesa in the South, but that lead is slim--just three points after the Redhawks won twice last week.  This Thursday, BENU is at Park-Gilbert and LSU hosts Providence Christian, two matches that have the potential to muddy the playoff picture.
