[Men's Soccer] UCM Erupts in Second Half to Win First Cal Pac Title

Freshman Luis Villegas registered a hat trick--all three in a 13-minute span in the second half--to lead UC Merced to a 6-0 win over Benedictine-Mesa in the California Pacific Conference Men's Soccer Championship Tournament finale at UC Merced in Merced, Calif.  The breakthrough win gives the Bobcats their first-ever Cal Pac title, after losing title matches to Marymount California in 2015, 2016, and 2017, and they did it in record-setting fashion.  The six goals by the Bobcats is the most in a Cal Pac final, topping Embry-Riddle's five in 2019.
