Donovan Mitchell Helped to Locker Room with Sprained Ankle on Friday
Donovan Mitchell came down hard and left Friday afternoon’s Pacers-Jazz game for good with a right ankle sprain. The Jazz swingman looked to be in a ton of pain and needed help making his way back to the locker room. Mitchell couldn’t put any weight on his right foot, so this could easily turn into a multi-game absence for the 24-year-old, who is in the midst of a career year for the Jazz. The 2017 13th overall pick is putting up career-bests in points with 26.6 per game and three-pointers with 3.4 a night while dishing out 5.3 assists a contest. If the talented shooter is forced to miss any time, Joe Ingles would move into the starting lineup while Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson, and Bojan Bogdanovic should all get boosts. The FanDuel Sportsbook has Utah tied with the Clippers as the third favorite to win the NBA championship at +700 but if Mithcell is lost for a substantial stretch, expect those odds to change drastically.
