The Flash actress Reina Hardesty has been finalized to play the lead character in The Boys spinoff. There are no details about her character yet.
Brockmire star Reina Hardesty has been cast as the lead in The Boys spinoff. As announced in September, Amazon Prime is fast-tracking a spinoff to its hit subversive superhero series, The Boys. The new show is set in the same universe as the original satirical drama, and it explores the lives of a new crop of young, hormonal, contentious supes as they vie for contracts in the biggest cities across the world while studying at a Vought-sponsored college for powered individuals. Described as an R-rated irreverent show that's part Hunger Games and part college drama, the spinoff is being developed by The Boys creator Eric Kripke, with Craig Rosenberg attached as the showrunner and executive producer. The untitled spinoff is proceeding at a fast clip, and now it has already finalized a star to essay the lead character.
According to Deadline, The Boys spinoff has cast Greenhouse Academy alumna Reina Hardesty as its lead. Details of Hardesty's character are being kept a secret. However, it's been confirmed that she'll play an aspiring superhero alongside the previously announced Aimee Carrero, Shane Paul McGhie, Maddie Phillips, Lizzie Broadway, and Jaz Sinclair.
Clearly, Hardesty isn't a stranger to the superhero fare. Arrowverse fans probably recognize her for her turn as Joslyn Jackam / Weather Witch in CW's The Flash, so they have an idea of the substance she puts into her performance. At first look, Hardesty doesn't appear to align with any of the characters from The Boys comics. But since the new spinoff is loosely based on the comics' parody of X-Men, known as G-Men, her role might be inspired by one of the comic's characters. Right now, details are too scant to make something out of Hardesty's casting. But given that the show is approaching an official greenlight, fans can expect some solid details about her lead character to emerge very soon.
