90 Day Fiancé: Why Having Mike & Natalie On Happily Ever After Is A Waste
Although them walking in separately to the Tell All set created enough drama, 90 Day Fiancé couple Mike Youngquist and Natalie Modovtseva gave TLC viewers nothing but long, awkward pauses of silence. Natalie giving Mike the silent treatment and him doing little more than being a wet blanket led many to deduce that the couple was lying about something. With a season already wasted on their loveless relationship, fans thought the season 8 finale was the last they’d seen of Mike and Natalie. And given how their relationship already seemed to have ended as per the Tell All, is it really necessary to give Mike and Natalie a spin-off with season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
Mike’s many shrugs and Natalie’s constant begging for the ring are what made up most of the couple’s storyline on 90 Day Fiancé season 8. While first it was Natalie constantly trying to change stubborn Mike’s habits, it was later his clear indifference towards her that got on the fans' nerves. Natalie garnered hate for her attitude, yes, but it was transferred to Mike slowly and steadily until it peaked when he dumped her on their wedding day. But while most hoped Mike and Natalie would leave their toxic tale behind and go their separate ways, they chose their incompatibility over logic again and got married in the 90 Day Fiancé finale. And sure enough, the Tell All showed that Mike and Natalie should have stayed broken up, for both their own and fans’ sanity’s sake.
If Natalie refusing to even talk to Michael during the Tell-All filming was a sign of the 90 Day Fiancé couple gone kaput, then her not wearing the ring and saying she left it at home for safekeeping was a bigger one. But still, Natalie rated her marriage to Mike a six on 10, while it certainly should have been in the negatives by the looks on their faces. Mike wore a smug look, even as his mother Trish revealed he’d planned on sending Natalie packing days before he dumped her on the wedding day. What’s more, Trish also revealed she wanted their neighbor Tamara to object to Natalie and Mike’s wedding, and yes, there was yet another cheating allegation that came towards the Sequim man’s way.
With things already gone so far south that the 90 Day Fiancé relationship is likely already in the rearview, the point of seeing Mike and Natalie in a spin-off sounds futile. Thanks to highly dramatic and unbelievable incidents such as Natalie not having cash to book herself a hotel room, to her past experience as an actress, Mike, and her storyline has also been suspected of being scripted. And who could forget Uncle Beau who spoiled the story before the wedding episode aired, by revealing the 90 Day Fiancé couple had separated, and Natalie had moved to Seattle away from Mike months ago.
In that case, it’s fair for 90 Day Fiancé fans to oppose Mike and Natalie being given another chance at faking their romance, one that he could have done for money, and her for a green card. Wouldn’t a different couple in their place on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? been more of a popcorn-worthy watch? But relationships waver and mend often on 90 Day Fiancé too, and there’s still an outside chance of Mike and Natalie, who’d almost broken up on two seasons only to get married, of getting back together again.
