NieR Replicant Remaster: How to Beat Geppetto (Boss Fight)
Those who want to make it all the way through NieR Replicant Remaster and see one of its many different endings need to know how to bring down each of the game's very difficult enemies. There is a wide range of different types of enemies that populate the world, the most popular of which are Shades. These grotesque beings have spread around the world, but players will also have to face off against hostile animals as well as ancient robots.
While most of the robots that the player fights are low-level enemies, there are a couple that is incredibly difficult to bring down. One of these harder fights is against the robotic boss Defense System Gepetto. Players will be forced to fight Gepetto when they reach the final part of the Junk Heap portion of the game, and if they aren't careful this boss will prevent them from progressing any further. This guide shows players how to defeat Defense System Gepetto.
Once players make it to the very end of the Junk Heap they will find themselves face to face with Defense System Gepetto, which is really a massive robotic construct from the old world. The robot has been built into the Junk Heap itself and its only goal is to exterminate anything that sets off its security protocols. It has several abilities that it uses to try and kill the player:
- Laser Fingers - Gepetto will hold its hands up in the air and fire a series of lasers across the map that the player must dodge out of the way of to avoid taking damage.
- Hand Smash - Gepetto will push his hands away from his body and slam them down on the player to deal damage.
- Minion Summoning - After the boss takes a certain amount of damage it will summon a group of smaller robots that can launch energy balls at the player.
- Gun Turret- Gun Turrets will raise out of the ground ever so often and shoot energy balls at the player.
- Tracking Missile - Gepetto will open its mouth and shoot out a missile that can track the player's movements.
In order to defeat Gepetto the first thing that players will want to do is keep an eye on the boss' hands. These are actually its weak points so attacking them with melee attacks whenever possible is the best way to harm the boss. The player will want to wait for Gepetto to try and smash them with its hand, and then dodge out of the way before doing several quick combos on the hands. When the hands are back up in the air the player can then launch magical attacks at them in order to deal damage as well. Remember to take out the small enemies to replenish MP.
The player will probably notice that magic won't harm Gepetto's head whatsoever, but there is actually a way to deal a sizable amount of damage to its head. All the player has to do is wait for the boss to try and shoot a tracking missile from his mouth. The player will then notice that the turret platforms will release a bomb that can be picked up and tossed directly into Gepetto's mouth. Keep doing this and doing melee damage to the boss when possible and it will come down in no time at all.
NieR Replicant Remaster can be played on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
