Real Housewives of DC: What Happened To The Cast Members After The Show
Since the swift and scandalous cancellation of The Real Housewives of DC in 2010, the five first housewives of the nation's capital have reinvented themselves. Although Andy Cohen admitted he wanted to renew RHODC for a second season, housewife Michaele Salahi crashing the 2009 White House state dinner wrecked any chance for the series to get a follow-up season. While fans hope for a Real Housewives of DC reboot, the original DC housewives are not holding their breath and have moved on to exciting new lives.
The cast of RHODC was made up of five housewives: Mary Amons, Lynda Erkiletian, Cat Ommanney, Stacie Scott Turner, and Michaele Salahi. Due to the fallout of the Salahi's uninvited attendance at the Obama's White House, these housewives were robbed of the reality star treatment veteran Housewives, such as Nene Leakes, Ramona Singer, and Teresa Giudice, have enjoyed. In an interview with Jezebel, Mary Amons shared her disappointment in the way Salahi's misconduct affected the show. "I like to use the word 'derailed.' It really derailed things. The focus shifted a lot from who we were independent as people and contributors to DC and to what these people were, and what they meant to us, and how offensive they were." Although none of these women had enough time on TV to become the controversial "Bravolebrities" fans hoped for, the five former housewives have made the best of their minute in the limelight and moved on with their lives.
A lot has changed in Mary Amons's life since the conclusion of RHODC. In the same interview, Amons shared that she was "very, very naive to the whole process," when she signed onto the show over a decade ago. Today, Mary Amons keeps herself busy as a designer, lifestylist, producer, actor, and philanthropist. While she remains devoted to her family of five children, Mary and her husband of 26 years got a divorce in 2012. Fortunately, Mary has maintained a friendship with fellow Real Housewives of DC castmate Lynda Erkiletian, as exhibited in a selfie of the two Amons shared on her Instagram captioned, "loads of laughs and love lunching with #covidbuddy." Mary holds the highest hope of returning to Bravo due to her friendship with Real Housewives of Potomac star Robyn Dixon.
On top of being Mary's COVID-19 buddy, Lynda currently works as the president and founder of her modeling company, The Artist Agency. Additionally, Lynda serves as the executive director for the James and Paula Coburn Foundation, a philanthropic organization that works with programs like Operation Smile and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Fellow castmate Cat Ommanney was already in a period of change before RHODC made its way to TV screens, as she and her husband divorced in 2010. After the show wrapped Cat moved back to the UK with her two daughters and even welcomed a third daughter, Zara Isabella, in 2012.
Much like Amons and Ommanney, former-housewife Stacie Scott Turner and husband Jason Turner opted for divorce in 2012. Since then, Stacie has focused on her prosperous real estate business, although it is no longer under full-time reality TV surveillance like Selling Sunset's Oppenheim Group. Lastly, Michaele Salahi has continued to make headlines since the conclusion of The Real Housewives of DC. Only a couple of years later, ex-husband Tareq filed a missing person's report for Michaele, only to discover she was on the road with new fling Neal Schon. While the cast was dealt an unfortunate hand, the group has made the best of their brief but undeniably memorable time in the spotlight.
