Salmon River Frame Questions

I am putting together my first all-new multi-day rig and am thinking I want the Salmon River Frame to go on the Williwaw 1 I just ordered, but I haven't seen more than a couple in person, and just on other peoples' boats that I didn't know, so I have a few questions.

Where do you strap the frame together?

The inside width is listed at 41.5", but the Williwaw 1 is listed at 40". Is that because the frame wraps around the tube under the point that sticks out the furthest?
