Donovan Mitchell Will Miss at Least a Week with Severe Ankle Sprain
Despite X-rays coming back negative on Donovan Mitchell’s ankle sprain suffered Friday against the Pacers, he will miss significant time due to the injury. Utah will re-evaluate the severity of the injury to see how Mitchell is doing in a week. Mitchell looked to be in severe pain after landing awkwardly in Utah’s win over Indiana yesterday and was helped back to the locker room for evaluation.
It’s not only a huge blow to Utah’s championship hopes as they sit at +750 to win it all in the FanDuel Sportsbook’s futures market but to fantasy owners. Mitchell was having a career year, and with most head-to-head leagues entering the playoffs next week, he can’t get back soon enough for league title contenders. In the meantime, Joe Ingles is the man to add sitting out there in around 40 percent of leagues, while Jordan Clarkson, who just returned from an ankle sprain of his own, will be tougher to find in just 23 percent of pools.
