The first season of Dad Stop Embarrassing Me may have opened to mixed reviews, but naysayers of the show cannot deny that the family sitcom has a lot going for it. The premise itself, that of a single father re-learning the facets of parenthood and helping his teenage daughter cope with her mother’s death, is sensitive and engaging.
The performances are unquestionably excellent, and since it’s a character-driven show, the actors have a lot of room to showcase their range. From Brian Dixon to Sasha to the loveable Pops every character has an endearing quality about them. So, which character do you resemble from the show based on your zodiac sign?
7 Brian - Leo
Brian prioritizes his family over everything, but he also likes the finer things in life; he wishes to attain a balance between his work and family life, even more so after his daughter Sasha comes to live with him. Much like a true Leo Brian is generous, protective, and a natural leader which makes him such an intriguing primary lead.
But he also struggles with boundaries and gets carried away often, especially if his loved ones are involved. Leos are traditionally domineering and are used to having their own way, so he’s not the best at making compromises.
6 Johnny - Aries
Though Aries are known for their leadership qualities, they are also creative and are great at compromises. Johnny is someone who puts his friendship with Chelsea first and doesn’t want their no-strings-attached arrangement to take a toll on their personal dynamic. Aries can also be highly driven by romantic pursuits and they are really giving, which makes them such good partners.
Johnny has very strong feelings for Chelsea, however he understands that she needs her space at the moment and backs off so the relationship could grow at its own pace.
5 Pops - Virgo
Virgo are nurturers and always put their family first. On the show, Pops would go to great lengths to make his kids happy, but he also believes in tough love because he is a little old school.
But he is very clear about what he wants and how he wants to do it. Virgos are hard-working, reliable, and practical. Pops has had a hard life but does not channel any bitterness or anger towards the world. He is thankful for the luxuries he has now but stays grounded, as he does not take his life for granted.
4 Libra - Manny
Libras are truth-seekers and value justice, which also often makes them a little stubborn as they feel they are always on the right side of the argument. Manny has been employed by the Dixons for a while now, and it becomes clear that he will go to great lengths to make their lives easier. However, he is never afraid to stand up for himself and explain his side of the story.
His honesty also makes him an invaluable addition to the Dixon household because he has his priorities straight, and, since he has the strong-headedness and clarity of a Libra, he can call a spade a spade.
3 Scorpio - Chelsea
Scorpios are fiercely loyal to their family and are ambitious and headstrong, and they also live life by their own rules. Chelsea Dixon is the successful, loving, and free-spirited sibling of Brian who never hesitates to call out her brother and her father when they’re being overbearing to her or to her niece Sasha.
More importantly, like a true Scorpio Chelsea believes in living life unapologetically and is also very decisive and well-adjusted. Unlike her brother, who often gets impulsive or too carried away with emotions, Chelsea is clear-headed and never lets anyone bully her into anything.
