LoL's Vayne Reimagined as Massive Minecraft Statue In Timelapse Video
One of League of Legends’ most recognizable champions, ranged assassin Vayne, has been reimagined in Minecraft as a giant voxel statue built from scratch in a timelapse video. Players do love treating their favorite fictional characters with blocky tributes in Minecraft. One of the latest heroes to be recognized in that way was Shrek.
Some crazy fan of the green ogre decided to honor the grumpy swamp resident with a giant statue in Minecraft. The result was a massive Shrek head and shoulders made completely out of rare emerald blocks. Obviously, the gems for that particular build were neither harvested by the player nor placed by hand. The scene was achieved with a lazy use of external 3D applications that can convert any object in a voxel schematic for later use. The latest Minecraft creation, however, is a properly built one.
The incredibly talented builder named -Tiddy-, who previously shared an amazing giant statue of NieR Automata’s 2B android, is back on Reddit showcasing another great project in a timelapse video. The latest creation by the block whisperer is a stunningly detailed statue of Vayne, one of League of Legends’ characters. The popular ranged assassin is portrayed standing over the giant corpse of a defeated Minecraft witch. The build took -Tiddy- 20 hours to complete, during which the player made the statue completely from scratch building outlines and slowly progressing with shapes. In part, the footage is so amazing thanks to realistic lighting, which was achieved with Complementary Shaders. Additionally, the Replay mod helped the author to record the building process and turn it into a stunning timelapse video.
As much as the timelapse video is amazing, it’s always more satisfying to see such builds with one’s own eyes. Recognizing the demand -Tiddy- shared a download link so that anyone could enjoy examining Vayne from every possible angle. A different kind of building video yet an equally impressive one has been shared by another talented Minecraft creator, although they had to go beyond the game to honor it appropriately. A skillful animator managed to render a dynamic scene showcasing a self-assembling Minecraft house, which looks quite simple as a build but makes an impression of a magical, deeply inspiring process.
It’s always a pure enjoyment to watch a talented creator do their incredible work, especially if it’s something as elaborate and complicated as building a 3D sculpture from Minecraft blocks in real-time. -Tiddy- never used any applications that effortlessly convert models into schematics to import them into the game. According to Vayne’s statue carver, such solutions are just boring as it’s not real art. Looking at what the player is able to achieve relying exclusively on their skill, it’s hard to disagree with their statement.
