Industry 'is among key locomotives' of EEU's economic potential, Pashinyan says at intergovernmental summit

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Friday that he finds the industrial sector a key locomotive promoting economic development across the Eurasian Economic Union’s (EAEU) .

In his speech at the EAEU prime ministerial summit in Kazan, Russia, he also highlighted the importance of the 2025 EEU Industrial Cooperation document currently under discussion.

“The creation of a comprehensive single consumer market is practically not applicable without developing an agreed policy in this direction. We are interested in increasing the competitiveness of the products manufactured in the EEU, both in domestic and foreign markets,” ARMENPRESS quoted him as saying.

The acting prime minister also agreed that the new global conditions have necessitated cooperation in the healthcare, education and social sectors, with high technologies becoming increasingly demanded.

Pashinyan thanked his EEU counterparts for the joint work, reaffirming Armenia’s willingness to invest all the necessary efforts towards enhancing the economic cooperation areas and developing the Union’s integration potential.
