France is concerned about rising violence in society and attacks on police officers – President Emmanuel Macron.

“The reality is that we are confronted with violence in our society and its level is rising”, –  he said, commenting on the murder of a police officer in Avignon.

He said that “the response to this crime must be proportional to the threat”.

The French leader expressed support for all security forces.

“Violence is making police work more and more difficult. We are fully on the side of our law enforcement agencies”, –  Macron assured.
