Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Jean-Luc's Job History, Age, IG & More
Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux is a Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 cast member that fans are curious about, and we've gathered some interesting information about his life. He is one of the deckhands who works alongside Gary King and Sydney Zaruba. Even though Jean-Luc is fairly new to the yachting industry, he tries to prove to his team members that they can trust him when it comes to his deckhand duties. However, Jean-Luc often gets distracted by his attraction to the second stewardess, Dani Soares.
Viewers met the youngest crew member during the first episode of the season, which premiered in March. The crew, including seasoned Captain Glenn Shephard, were shocked to see just how tall their newest deckhand actually was. When he first came on the boat and met Glenn, viewers couldn't help but notice that Jean-Luc towered over the Captain. In fact, he couldn't even fit inside of his assigned bunk. However, Jean-Luc's taller-than-average height is the least of his concerns, as his exterior team members have been on his back all season. He's also got his romance with Dani to think about.
The deckhand was born on October 15, 1995, in North Carolina. He started on the show as a 24-year-old but has since celebrated a birthday. Jean-Luc has worked on boats in the past, in Florida and Italy. He was presumably stranded in Italy after the COVID-19 quarantine was put into effect. It is believed that he was working a charter there when the shutdown began. Later, he traveled to Croatia, where he began filming Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 with the cast. On the show, he introduced himself as "the tallest deckhand in yachting," and he is reported to be around 6'9".
During his time on the Bravo series, Jean-Luc developed close relationships with most of the people in the crew. Even though he and his first mate Gary tended to butt heads onscreen, Jean-Luc's Instagram confirms that the pair are now on much better terms. He shared a series of photos of the two friends having a laugh while on their day off in Croatia. "Get you someone by your side the way Gary stands by my side!! "Elevated," Jean-Luc wrote in the caption. Besides his friendship with Gary, rumors have been circulating that Jean-Luc is the father of Dani's unborn child. There isn't much information about Jean-Luc's life prior to Below Deck Sailing Yacht. However, we do know that he got into yachting due to his love of travel. Like so many yachties before him, he wanted to travel the world while also getting paid. While Jean-Luc may be grateful for his career at sea, he may shy away from more surprising Below Deck franchise "boatmances" due to Dani's pregnancy.
