Spurs player ratings: Usually reliable midfielder a 3 out of 10 in Leeds defeat
Tottenham’s slim top-four hopes were all but ended on Saturday as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at Leeds United.
Son Heung-min scored a well taken equaliser in the first half but it wasn’t enough as the hosts outplayed Ryan Mason’s men.
Here’s how every Spurs player rated on the day.
Hugo Lloris, 7 – Made some good saves and could do little about the goals.
Serge Aurier, 4 – Too many silly fouls and offered little going forward.
Toby Alderweireld, 6 – Spurs’ best defender on the day but that isn’t saying much.
Eric Dier, 3 – Gave the ball away and was flat-footed for the crucial second Leeds goal.
Sergio Reguilon, 4 – Like Aurier, he never had a grip on his marker and looked clumsy.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 3 – The usually reliable midfielder was awful positionally and wasteful on the counter.
Giovani Lo Celso, 5 – Good moments but often held onto the ball for too long and misplaced his final ball.
Dele Alli, 5 – Great assist for the goal but really quiet after the break.
Gareth Bale, 5 – Some nice touches early on but went quiet and didn’t recover.
Son Heung-min, 6 – Took his goal well. Like others, he gradually faded.
Harry Kane, 5 – Scored a fine disallowed goal. His shooting was otherwise wayward.
Substitutes
Erik Lamela, 3 – His impact was hindered by his awful final product.
Lucas Moura, 4 – Added pace but mostly just ran into people.
Tanguy Ndombele, N/A – Didn’t have enough time to change the game.
