Washington Wizards vs. Indiana Pacers Predictions and Picks
It should be all hands on deck for the Indiana Pacers players who are available to play in Saturday night’s game against the Washington Wizards. Indiana is just a half-game ahead of the Wizards for the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference.
It would behoove both teams to avoid the tenth seed in the conference as that likely would mean a single-elimination matchup with either the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics in the NBA’s playoff play-in tournament. I would expect this game to be a very entertaining game with plenty on the line for both teams.
Both teams know only one way to play, and that’s at warp speed. Washington and Indiana are ranked first and third in the league in terms of pace. Washington averages 107.9 possessions while Indiana averages 105.6.
What’s also interesting is that over their last three games, both teams are playing at an even faster pace, with Washington averaging 116.7 possessions and Indiana 110.1.
This is a game that will look more like an All-Star game when it’s all said and done: Up and down the court without much defense that’s being played. Even with a total as high as 248.5, I still wouldn’t be deterred from playing this game over. The first team to 130 might not even be enough to determine a winner.
My model likes this game over the total, and I’m in full agreement with that projection.
The Pick: Over 248.5
