MCU Loki Funko Pops Include Alligator Loki & The Other Variants
WARNING: Spoilers for Loki episode 5, "Journey Into Mystery"
The newest Funko Pops based on Disney+’s Loki include Alligator Loki and the other variants from episode 5. The fifth episode titled “Journey Into Mystery” aired this week, taking its main character to “The Void,” a wasteland at the end of time containing everything pruned by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Given the God of Mischief’s proclivity for survival, our Loki (Tom Hiddleston) meets a plethora of new variants including Classic Loki, Kid Loki, Boastful Loki, President Loki (Hiddleston), and, of course, Alligator Loki.
While fans have been anticipating Richard E. Grant’s arrival in Loki, and he didn’t disappoint as Classic Loki, gauging by the reaction online, a green reptile’s bite stole the show. By introducing more tricksters who were pruned for deviating the Scared Timeline’s plan, the penultimate episode was the series’ most memorable yet. Funko Inc. is a company that creates collectible figures based on popular culture, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe certainly permeates pop culture. Everyone from Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie to Hunter B-15, Ravonna Renslayer, and Miss Minutes have already received collectibles.
Now, Marvel has unveiled a slew of merchandise stemming from Loki’s fifth episode. The latest addition to the series' line of Funko Pop collectibles includes Classic Loki, President Loki, Kid Loki, and the Alligator of Mischief. There are also key chains, pins, t-shirts, hats, backpacks, and other accessories. Check out the lineup Funko Pops below:
As was the case with previous Marvel series like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki novelty items continue to capitalize on enthusiasm weekly. Fresh off the new trailer for What...If?, Marvel also unveiled their lineup of Funko Pops based on that animation—a multiverse-heavy series that might tie into the events of Loki. Outside of Avengers: Endgame, Loki is the first MCU project to truly explore the idea of alternate timelines and variants of beloved characters. The series’ final episode will surely introduce at least one more character and their resulting Funko Pop.
Not only did Episode 5 of Loki give audiences the horned alligator, who may or may not be a Loki variant according to Mobius, but it set up the series’ final confrontation. Thanks to the impressive power of Classic Loki, Loki and Sylvie were able to enchant the Void’s amorphous monster, Alioth, clearing the way to a castle presumably housing the creator of the TVA. Ravonna’s connection to Kang the Conquerer in the comics has led many to theorize he’ll be the mastermind behind it all. Given the overall theme of the series and the fact that there’s still one Loki variant (from the trailers) yet to be seen in the show, it’s more likely the TVA was created by the God of Mischief himself.
