I had unprotected sex to try to get pregnant because I’m so lonely
DEAR DEIDRE: I HAD unprotected sex to try to get pregnant because I’m so lonely. It didn’t work.
I don’t have many friends. I’m convinced nobody likes me and whenever I talk to my friends about my feelings, I end up losing them.
I’m constantly checking my phone to see if anyone has texted me. When nobody has, I feel sad and empty.
I’m a 16-year-old girl. How do I stop these negative thoughts?

No issue is too small, too large or too embarrassing. Read our personal replies here.
DEIDRE SAYS: Having a baby isn’t a solution to loneliness. You’re trapped in a vicious circle. You’re worried people don’t like you, so act needy, which makes your friends back off.
A type of counselling called CBT can help change your negative thought patterns. If you need to talk to someone, call Supportline (supportline.org.uk or on 01708 765 200).
