Woman shares clever hack which speeds up the ironing and all you need is aluminium foil
THERE aren’t many people who actually love ironing, so anything to get it over with quicker is very much welcome.
But this woman’s hack has blown the rest out of the water and all you need is some aluminium foil.
Posting on TikTok under the name @saudianna, the handy homemaker says her hack will speed up ironing and get rid of stubborn creases in no time.
She demonstrates covering the entire ironing board in a layer of aluminium foil before putting the cover straight back on top.
Then, she lays out a shirt ready to iron and shows how to get the job done in minutes.
In the comments she explains: “Since it’s such a thin piece of metal, aluminum foil is a great thermal conductor. It radiates at such a high speed that it quickly cools off. (sic)
“So this hack speeds up the ironing process and makes it easier to smooth out any stubborn creases. Thank me later.”

Loads of viewers took to the comments to thank her for the clever tip while many others said their mums or grandmothers used to do it “years ago” and it always worked wonders on clothes.
“Wow that’s so clever and makes perfect sense,” one person said.
And another added: “That’s genius.”
Verity Mann, Head of Testing at the Good Housekeeping Institute also backed up the claiming saying the foil acts as a “second iron.”
She said: “You don’t need to turn the garment over, thanks to the foil, you will only need to iron one side as the foil reflects the heat and will effectively take care of the other side saving you time”
What’s more, you don’t need to replace the foil after every use and can continue using the same piece of foil for a long time as “it won’t lose its reflecting power.”
And be sure to lay the shiny side up as well as it reflects the best heat.
