The Top 10 Bromances In The MCU | ScreenRant
One of the best things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the way that certain superheroes are coupled together. Whether it’s Iron Man and Captain America leading The Avengers together, or even Bucky and Sam reluctantly carrying on that mantle, every hero has that one guy they can depend on.
And even then, there are other friendships stricken up between heroes and everymen, as every Avenger seemingly needs a yes-men, a hype man, or even a guy in the chair. Given the stressful jobs that these guys have, it only makes sense that they kick back and relax with their colleagues every now and again, and more often than not, they end up bonding and becoming besties.
10 Steve And Tony
Being the most obvious of bromances, Steve and Tony have come a long way since they first met in The Avengers. At the start, they hated each other’s guts, which was hardly surprising considering how different they were. It seems like such a natural friendship as well, as even though they don’t always get along and they have very different and specific opinions when it comes to major issues, they always come back together in the end. And when Tony gave Steve his shield back, it was the kindest gesture he had ever overtly expressed to another human being.
9 Peter Quill And Thor
It could be argued that Star-Lord and Thor are more frenemies than anything, as the last time they were seen together, they were battling it out for captain of The Milano. But the best thing about their interaction was the potential it left for their future, since there was an instant spark between the two. And since Peter is confirmed to be appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder - which is due for release next year - there's a possibility that Thor and Peter's The Odd Couple-esque relationship will be explored even more.
8 Loki And Mobius
Though it’s fairly new, there’s no denying the bond that Loki and Mobius have. It may have something to do with the fact that Mobius has such a unique ability of controlling the God of Mischief where so few others have, but Loki has shown that these two make a surprisingly great dynamic duo.
The two don’t just joke about Ben and Jerry’s ice cream or hurl pop culture references at each other, but they also have deep and meaningful philosophical discussions. Not only that, but Mobius is the only character in the MCU who has gotten Loki to genuinely open up about his feelings, even if it might have been a little manipulative.
7 Bucky And Sam
What Bucky and Sam achieved was almost unprecedented, as they first hated each other’s guts, and even though they were equally important parts of Steve Rogers' life, they were almost polar opposites in every way.
It was one of the MCU friendships nobody saw coming, but with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, their hatred for one another blossomed into a beautiful friendship. It was always going to be a long process for Sam and Bucky to learn to accept that they’re a part of each other’s lives - so much so that they even had couples therapy - and the six hours of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was the perfect way to do it.
6 Rocket And Groot
Rocket and Groot have been friends from the very beginning, as it didn’t take them multiple movies to learn to love each other, and there wasn’t any kind of epiphany that made them realise they work well together.
They were partners in crime from the very moment they were seen on screen trying to steal the orb in Guardians of the Galaxy. Though some think Rocket and Groot aren’t real friends, as Rocket insults Groot at every chance he gets, nothing has ever come between them, and Rocket even took it upon himself to raise Groot when the tree turned in to a Baby.
5 Peter Parker And Ned
Being Spidey’s guy in the chair, Ned is a friend that everyone needs, and though he may have almost blown his cover on several occasions, Peter has nobody he can confide in more than Ned. Having grown up together, the two are almost joined at the hip, as they build LEGO sets together, study together, and now they seemingly fight crime together. And though it was devastating when Peter lost Tony Stark - the closest thing to a father figure he had - he at least still has Ned.
4 Rocket And Thor
Peter Quill isn’t the only Guardian that Thor his stricken up a bromance with, as, surprisingly enough, the God of thunder spent a large amount of time with Rocket in both Infinity War and Endgame.
Rocket first helped Thor build Stormbreaker in Infinity War, and they then travelled to Asgard together to retrieve the Reality Stone in Endgame, so they have done quite a bit of bonding. At one point, Raccoon even consoles Thor when he’s upset over everybody he’s lost. And given that the raccoon has lost a lot himself, it’s no wonder why the two get along so well.
3 Scott And Luis
Luis might not have any super powers or a suit that lets him fly through the sky or shrink down to the size of an ant, but his loyalty to Scott Lang is unwavering. Despite being an Avenger, Scott still stays grounded and remains besties with his ex-convict friends. It’s a testament to how much of an everyman that Scott is by still being friends with Luis, but Luis is no slouch either, as he has Scott’s back just as much as Scott has his. Though any MCU fan would love to be friends with Ant-Man, there are many who would love to be friends with Luis too.
2 Tony And Rhodey
Rhodey has always been there for Tony, both for the good times and the bad times. Though Tony is a billionaire philanthropist that never takes no for an answer and always does whatever he wants, Rhodey is always there to pull him back down to reality.
Rhodey was there to stop Tony from making a fool of himself at his birthday party in Iron Man 2, and he was there to take care of him when he had PTSD in Iron Man 3. And on top of that, they have one of the most stable relationships in the MCU, as Iron Man and War Machine never once fell out.
1 Sam And Steve
Bucky and Steve were close, especially in the early days growing up together in Brooklyn, but there’s no denying that Steve filled that Bucky shaped hole in his heart with Sam. Ever since they met when they were sprinting around Washington in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, they have had each others’ backs. Steve gave Sam the Captain America shield for a reason, and it wasn’t just because they were best friends, but because Steve trusted Sam more than anybody.
