Bachelor: Catherine Lowe Reveals Why She Thinks Franchise Couples Fail
Why is it that so many couples from The Bachelor fail? The one exception to the rule thinks she has the answer. Catherine and Sean Lowe are the only final couple from The Bachelor to actually make it down the aisle. Alongside last season's winner Rachael Kirkconnell, Catherine is the only other final rose recipient to still be with her Bachelor.
After his debut in Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette, Sean met Catherine on season 17 of The Bachelor. In the finale, she accepted his final rose and his proposal. They married a year later, in January 2014. Today, they reside in Texas with their three kids. Fans love to keep up with the Lowes and their adorable family on Instagram. However, Catherine admits that becoming the show's success story was incredibly hard, and she understands why others fail. The Seattle native also shared some thoughts on the franchise's current state.
Speaking to E! News, Catherine opened up about the challenging circumstances that come with falling in love on reality TV. As she told the Daily Pop, "I think genuinely people really want to find love but there's so many factors involved." Reflecting on the adjustment once the cameras are gone, she continued, "There are so many things against you after you leave the show." On her own experience, Catherine shared, "I'm really grateful and blessed that Sean and I saw this wonderful life after but I can say that it is really hard to get there." Catherine has previously admitted that, while they make a picture-perfect family now, she and Sean had their rough patches in the beginning.
While Sean is boycotting the Chris Harrison-less season, Catherine is still watching The Bachelorette. Reflecting on Katie's romantic future, she said, "I think actually the rate for the guys that receive the first impression rose from the Bachelorettes are usually the last ones standing. But here's to seeing." The mom of three told E! that Katie had just sent home her "frontrunner," Connor. "I think Connor B. just handled himself so well at his exit. The guys were crying when he left, so he made a huge impression on all of Bachelor Nation and I'm really excited to see what he has in store for him later."
Will the next winner of The Bachelor find happily-ever-after like Catherine? Fans will have to wait and see. Season 26 will begin after two subsequent seasons of The Bachelorette.
