Racing tips: Templegate NAPS talented filly who gets weight and steps up in trip at Musselburgh

RISING STAR (5.45 Musselburgh, nap)

Marco Botti’s filly kicked off this season with a solid third at Pontefract before leaving that behind with a narrow second at Newmarket 15 days ago.

That was over seven furlongs but she prefers this mile and the handicapper has left her mark alone. She gets a handy weight allowance from her older rivals which will be a big help to jockey Ben Curtis.

FIREBOMB (4.45 Musselburgh, nb)

He makes his handicap debut here under a fair weight after a hat-trick of seconds at maiden level. The most recent was the best as he went down in a tight finish at Ripon. It won’t take much more to get off the mark.

THE NAVIGATOR (6.40 Musselburgh, treble)

He was just getting going at the end of 1m6f at Haydock last time when running into third place. This extra two furlongs looks ideal and he’s dropped below his latest winning mark on the level.

Expensive buy from a yard that has lots of juvenile winners.

Solid effort at York latest and this is an easier race.
