Breath of the Wild Player Notices Clever Sheikah Slate Detail

0

One eagle-eyed The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild player just noticed an easy-to-miss detail involving Link’s trusty Sheikah Slate and Remote Bombs. The hero of Hyrule uses the tablet-like Sheikah Slate to access his map, use his numerous Rune powers and even unlock the Ancient Shrines and Sheikah Towers he comes across in his journey to rescue Princess Zelda and save the world from the evil Calamity Ganon.

Throughout this journey, players have picked up on several fun little details, tricks, and Easter Eggs, including one trick that lets Breath of the Wild players drive a motorboat. There's so many things to discover that it can be easy to lose track of the main objective in the game. These crafty Breath Of The Wild fans have figured out how to trap Lynels with ice blocks, obtain the legendary Master Sword with a simple campfire, and they've even found realistic behaviors in the game's computerized sheep. Others have discovered mountain landscapes that resemble Windows XP wallpapers, and learned the hard way that the sneaky Yiga Clan can even steal that Master Sword that they camped out all night to acquire.

Yesterday, Reddit user JayTMars noticed a fun little detail about Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s Sheikah Slate, one that they shared with the Breath_of_the_Wild subreddit. The ring on the bottom of the slate looks like the one that appears at the top of the bombs summoned by the rune unlocked near the beginning of the game. This gives the Sheikah Slate a much more involved role in the creation of these explosives, and has led some to theorize that the device functions as a sort of remote detonator for the bombs after they've been placed.

Breath Of The Wild is set to become one of the few Zelda titles to receive a direct sequel, as Nintendo recently unveiled gameplay from the still-untitled Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 at its E3 Direct showcase last month. Fans have since speculated on this new game’s story and features, with some suggesting that it will have more than one playable character - and that one of the two heroes will be the longtime villain Ganon in the days before his transformation into the scourge of Hyrule and Link and Zelda’s most hated enemy.

Meanwhile, the ring of the Sheikah Slate detaching and becoming a remote-controlled Bomb that the rest of the device can trigger is a neat little touch in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. Little details like this help to flesh out the rich world that players journey through, as well as provide some insight into how the mysterious device functions.
