In the last decade of sharing their family life on television, the Brown family has had their fair share of cringe-inducing moments. From scandals to awkward family talks and everything in between, there is nothing the Brown family has not experienced. Kody, his wives, and his children have all shared cringe-worthy moments on camera throughout the 14 seasons of the show.

In 2015, Meri was involved in a catfish scandal where she was involved in a fake online romance via Twitter. Meri called off the relationship when she realized that she was being catfished, but her ex-lover leaked explicit text messages between the two. This ultimately started the downfall of her relationship with Kody as it was the start of a lot of tension and was a huge wake up call for them.
Sister Wives daughter Mykelti was involved in some cringe-worthy moments, one of them being when she asked her mother Christine to sing at her wedding for her and her new husband Antonio. Christine’s song is a sign of approval, as she did not support the marriage at first, but when she took the stage it was awkward to say the least. Viewers also cringed when Mykelti showed her fashion designs to a professional designer as she was applying for an internship. It was bad enough that her designs were far from professional and even looked childish, but she went on an internship interview with her parents making her seem even more childish.
Another one of Kody’s daughters, Mariah, had a personal, heart-to-heart conversation turn into a cringe-worthy moment as she was trying to express her truth to her mother, Meri. Mariah was coming out to her family, which can be a very difficult conversation to have for many reasons, and Meri made the conversation with her only daughter even harder to have. She made things very awkward very quickly by saying that the conversation and the situation were both “weird” instead of supporting her daughter. This conversation was certainly hard to watch, but certainly must have been more difficult to experience.
The Brown family has shared lots of embarrassing, awkward, and cringe-worthy moments on Sister Wives. Having your life documented on camera is not easy, especially when your lifestyle is as complicated and different as the Brown’s. The polygamist lifestyle is certainly not supported by everyone, but the Brown family is making it work.
