They say "In Vino Veritas (In Wine there is Truth)" and there are thousands of incidents all over the world where someone who is intoxicated has done the whackiest things. Whether this chap really meant to attack a snake is debatable; what is true is that he'd certainly had a skinful when he bit a snake that crossed his path.
