Blue Jays designate former All-Star reliever Brad Hand

Unable to deliver during a short stay in Toronto, former All-Star reliever Brad Hand was designated for assignment Tuesday by the Blue Jays.

The left-hander had been acquired by the Blue Jays from the Washington Nationals at the trade deadline, but he was 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA in 11 outings with Toronto.
