Marvel's She-Hulk Just Got An Insane Power Upgrade as Winter Hulk
Warning! Spoilers for Avengers #48 below
Marvel's She-Hulk has been tortured and brainwashed into becoming a soldier for the Winter Guard, which has come with some unexpectedly powerful new abilities. In Avengers #48, the Winter Hulk makes a grand entrance to capture Gorilla-Man for the Russian organization. In the attack, she fends off a group of villains with fire breath, showing that she's become something much different since being turned into a living weapon.
In Marvel's current Avengers series, She-Hulk has been turned into the Winter Hulk by the Winter Guard, as the Red Widow orchestrated the capture of the hero after she demolished part of Russia. After Gorilla-Man betrayed the team and allowed the Winter Guard into Avengers Mountain, the group successfully took Jennifer Walters down and brought her back to Russia. It's there, they subjected the powerful hero to different kinds of torture, similar to how Winter Soldier was created. In doing so, they created the Winter Hulk, whose powers are more dangerous than ever before.
In Avengers #48 by Jason Aaron, Javier Garron, David Curiel, and VC's Cory Petit, Gorilla-Man drowns his sorrows at a bar in Bagalia, a nation run entirely by supervillains. However, after starting a bar fight, he's quickly interrupted by the Winter Hulk, who quickly grabs the former Avengers ally. But, when she is about to leave with him, a group of villains angry at him tells her that Gorilla-Man is there's to take out. She-Hulk doesn't take kindly to their interference and lets out a blast of fire from her mouth.
She-Hulk makes quite the entrance and exit. As she leaves the bar while carrying Gorilla-Man by his shirt, the establishment goes up in flames. Gorilla-Man tries to get through to She-Hulk after noticing bite marks on her neck, as the Winter Guard had Dracula's forces feed on her to break her down. Unfortunately, She-Hulk's fiery assaults don't end there, as Blade later finds a murdered group of vampires in Chernobyl. The hero finds their headquarters on fire, as Blade is certain the Winter Hulk was responsible.
The Winter Guard has created a weapon that's nearly impossible to take down. Through various forms of torture, including subjecting her body to vampires, She-Hulk has transformed into one of the deadliest assassins ever. Not only does the Winter Hulk have the strength of the Avenger, but now she can seemingly breathe fire. It's going to be quite a challenge for the Avengers to stop She-Hulk now that she's been unleashed by the Winter Guard. Avengers #48 is in comic book stores now.
