FedEx Cup's massive prize pool could be better spent elsewhere in the golfing world

As the golf world's rich are set to get richer this weekend it poses the question: Is it incumbent on golf's decision makers to spread some of that money into other parts of the game, including Australia's tour, which has been described as "inept"?
