Knockout City's Midseason Heroes Event Explained | Screen Rant
Knockout City, the colorful dodgebrawl experience from EA and Velan Studios, has kicked off its most recent limited-time event. From August 31 to September 14, players will be able to suit up in spandex, exercise special powers, and engage in a new playlist. The midseason event even brings a new narrative element to Knockout City, giving exciting texture to the superpowered theme of Heroes.
A competitive dodgeball video game, Knockout City pits players against each other in 3v3 battles. Knockout City is currently in its second season, offering a variety of maps and special balls to spice up gameplay. The rules are relatively straightforward: getting hit twice results in a KO, and the first team to reach 10 KOs wins the round. The team that wins two out of three rounds wins the overall match.
Knockout City Heroes is introducing a story to the game, set to put players in a battle of good versus evil. Attempting to fight back against the Viper agents that have infiltrated the city with Chemical V, Captain KO and Curve Shot Kid have entered the scene. Players can choose to side with the Dodging Duo or Viper, but one thing is for certain - anyone who ingests Chemical V will find themselves imbued with superpowers.
When the match begins, as well as after each respawn, Knockout City players will get a randomly generated superpower. Several of these abilities support players on the offensive. Ballform Bounce will ultimately throw players in ballform who roll onto a bounce pad, Tackle Strike will deal damage to opponents with the tackle move, which usually only throws foes off balance. Additionally, the Strength ability will allow players to pick up opponents after tackling them.
Knockout City's Hero event also has several passive and defensive abilities. Most notable is the Healing Powers, which will allow players to gain a lost heart, potentially delaying a KO. Players can also gain charge from catching and passing, double jump, and use x-ray vision to see through walls and target opponents.
Those who participate in Knockout City's midseason event will also be able to engage in 14 new hero contracts, 13 of which grant power crystals upon completion. The final contract can only be done after all the others have been completed, and awards players with the Atomic Powered Ultimate Hologram. Knockout City is also offering a number of unique, superhero-themed skins for players to enjoy long after the Heroes midseason event draws to a close. There are also special hero-themed playlists, which offer unique, limited-time game modes to Knockout City.
