Big Brother: Christian Calls Alyssa 'Savage' For Her Talk With Xavier
The last pre-jury evicted houseguest from this season of Big Brother, Christian Birkenberger, is calling his former showmance partner Alyssa Lopez a "savage" for her recent conversation with Xavier Prather. Christian was blindsided by Derek Xiao during week five of the competition. Derek back-doored Christian in an effort to get the biggest physical threat out of the game. Christian was ultimately evicted with a 7-2 vote against Sarah Beth Steagall.
Two weeks later, Derek was questioning if this was the right move when Sarah Beth did the same thing to him. At the time, Derek was overly confident in his Big Brother game. Unlike Christian, Derek had the opportunity to compete for safety prior to Sarah Beth executing her backdoor plan. He decided to opt-out of playing in the Chopping Block Roulette, despite production encouraging him to do so. Derek hoped to save his BB Bucks to trade them in to play the Coin of Destiny the following week. Instead, he was evicted by a 5-2 vote.
Since Christian was the last houseguest evicted prior to jury, he has been tuning in to the show as well as the live feeds alongside fans. A Twitter user shared a clip from the live feeds in which Alyssa and Xavier are seen discussing the upcoming eviction vote. Christian later retweeted the video, calling his former showmance partner a "savage" for the way she handled the conversation. Xavier had been contemplating whether or not to give Sarah Beth a sympathy vote during tonight's live eviction. Alyssa, on the other hand, had no sympathy for Sarah Beth, explaining the vote should be unanimous. Sarah Beth, Alyssa and Xavier were all on the King's Team together with Christian as their team captain earlier this summer.
Alyssa was shocked to learn that Xavier was actually considering giving Sarah Beth a sympathy vote. She tried to explain to Xavier that giving her a sympathy vote "ties [him] with her." During the past evictions, the other houseguests expected both Xavier and Alyssa to give Christian a sympathy vote. It was also predictable for Hannah Chaddha to give Derek X. a sympathy vote due to their close friendship. It would be quite shocking if Xavier gave Sarah Beth a sympathy vote since they are not seen as being close friends or allies. Xavier claimed that his reasoning for this was because he had told Christian that he does not want anyone to go home unanimously. Alyssa noted that Xavier had no issue with Whitney Williams being evicted by a unanimous vote, to which Xavier specified that he had meant strictly the Kings' team members. Alyssa advised that Xavier should "pick a side" as he cannot "have his cake and eat it too."
While Alyssa believes this is a tactic for Xavier to get on the jury's good side, she has not yet realized the bigger picture. Xavier is actually a part of the dominating six-person alliance called the Cookout. Since he has these five other players behind him, it would not cause any issues if he were to give Sarah Beth a sympathy vote. In addition to this, Xavier would also be getting on Kyland Young's good side. Since Kyland is on the block alongside his closest friend Sarah Beth, he is not eligible to give her a sympathy vote himself. Alyssa will not be too happy if Julie Chen Moonves reveals a non-unanimous vote during tonight's live eviction. On the other hand, it might open her eyes to see what is really going on inside the house.
Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
