Custom LEGO God Of War Minifigures Feature Removable Beard for Kratos

0

One God Of War fan has recreated Kratos and Atreus in Lego form, and the results are surprisingly detailed and spot-on. Lego and gaming go pretty well together, as players have built accurate replicas of everything from Nook’s Cranny in Animal Crossing to the Wii Sports Resort using Denmark’s favorite building toy.

Meanwhile, one of the many twists to come from 2018’s God Of War reboot was that Kratos now had a son named Atreus, and that the formerly vengeful Ghost Of Sparta had long abandoned his god-slaying ways in favor of a quiet life in the hills of Midgard. When Atreus’s mother Freya dies, both father and son embark on a somber journey of self-discovery as they travel across the nine realms of Norse mythology to fulfill her dying wish to have her ashes scattered across the highest point in Jötunheim. During this long and dangerous trek, Kratos is forced to confront his violent past and Atreus comes to terms with his own divine heritage - all as a greater destiny is set in motion for them both.

A couple of days ago, Reddit user swedishMartin posted images of his custom-made Kratos and Atreus Lego minifigures to r/GodOfWar. Their Kratos figure features his new Leviathan Axe and a removable beard that allows fans to recreate the anti-hero’s classic look from the original God Of War trilogy, while Atreus carries his trusty hunting bow and the knife that was a gift from his late mother. Both of swedishMartin’s custom God Of War Lego minifigures can be seen in the Reddit posts below.

God Of War fans are currently looking forward to the future adventures of Kratos and Atreus in God Of War: Ragnarök, which was announced for the PlayStation 5 back in September. Not much about the game has been revealed in the months since, save that God Of War: Ragnarök was delayed until next year to allow for more polish time in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This long drought of information may be coming to an end soon though, as rumors suggest that God Of War: Ragnarök will be featured during this week’s PS5 Showcase livestream.

One might not expect the notoriously violent and cynical God Of War series to go well with a family-friendly toy like Lego, but swedishMartin's custom minifigures are a surprisingly cute and accurate depiction of the father-son duo of Kratos and Atreus. Fans might never get an official God Of War Lego set, but they will at least be able to take control of Kratos and his son once again when God Of War: Ragnarök finally launches on both the PS4 and PS5 sometime next year.
