Pedestrian hit by car identified
Police said on Monday they have established the identity of the pedestrian who was critically injured when she was hit by a car as she tried to cross the Peyia-Kathikas road on Saturday.
The victim is a 53-year-old British woman, permanent resident of Paphos district.
She remains in critical condition at Nicosia General Hospital where she was transferred from Paphos general because of the severity of her condition.
Police said that at around 8.00 pm on Saturday a car driven by a 30-year-old man with a 27-year-old woman passenger, had under conditions being investigated, hit the woman who was trying to cross the road.
She was initially taken to Paphos hospital and from there because of the critical nature of her injuries transferred to Nicosia.
